Sessions

Session 1: How To Paint Vision

The power duo, Damon and Kristine Strom of Churchome, kick off the Amazing Kids Experience by guiding us through ways to paint vision. The wisdom in this session will leave you feeling encouraged and energized to lead the volunteers in your Kids Ministry with confidence. Pastors Damon and Kristine not only offer their best practices on how to be the chief vision painter in your Kids Ministry, they also drop tons of knowledge and insight in the Q+A portion of this session.

Session 2: Leading for the Long Haul

Join us for this keynote session at the Amazing Kids Experience. Jim Wideman, a pioneer in kids ministry has bravely faced the tough stuff for almost 50 years, proving that true heroes don’t quit, even when times are hard. Through his personal stories, he shows us that jobs like his can be tough but incredibly rewarding, like an exciting journey. He also shares awesome and practical tips on how to avoid burnout and keep the excitement alive in your work. It’s a brilliant guide for anyone who wants to be strong, stay motivated, and find joy in what they do. Get ready to be inspired!

Session 3: For Better Or Worse

In this amazing session, Hannah Morris sits down to have a candid conversation about being a pastor’s wife and Kids Pastor all at the same time. She offers stories that will leave you laughing, crying, and feeling inspired if you’ve been a part of a church plant. Hannah tells us all about her experience building a kids ministry from the ground up in a new city, while serving in multiple roles at her and her husband’s new church. If you’re someone who’s been tasked with being the interim kids pastor, or is new to kids ministry in general – this session will leave you feeling a little less alone.

Session 4: The Role of a KidsMin Leader

This session is about transforming the way we approach Kids Ministry. Sam emphasizes the need to shift from a focus on fun and entertainment to nurturing lasting faith, community, and biblical engagement. He shares his journey from a “fun-focused” Kids Pastor to a children’s minister, agonizing over the Christlikeness of his flock rather than their enjoyment of activities. Kids Ministry is not about boasting numbers but about creating a lasting impact. This session will inspire you to look deeply into your role as a Kids Pastor or leader and redefine your ministry goals. Tune in to get insights on how to focus on the most essential elements of ministry – making disciples, fostering Christlikeness, and nurturing a community rooted in faith.

Session 5: Creating A Sticky Kids Ministry

In this session, the Hillsong Kids Australia Pastor gives us 10 simple steps on how to create a sticky Kids Ministry. Join Pastor Beci as she answers the question, “how do we stay attractive?” in order to inspire and retain leaders. She talks us through culture, vision, and paying it forward. Beci and her husband, Dave Wakerley, do a bonus Q + A portion at the end of this session that you won’t want to miss!

Session 6: Started From The Bottom

If you’re a leader looking for encouragement or practical inspiration – this session is for you! Kids Ministry Leaders, Payton and Kaylyn, share their wisdom on all things temporary buildings, operating on a limited budget, and the heart behind prioritizing policy and procedures for your teams. You’ll be equipped with practical how-to’s and feel equipped to lead in every season after hearing from these two! Join these seasoned, young leaders as they share their stories with Connie in a fun conversation about Kids Ministry.
